Of every rise, they say,
Beware, for it precedes a fall
But this one hit came

You swim in narcissism

Feels Like Home

Seated, flipping through stories
Some cause a grin, but you're not pulled into any
A yawn, a stretch, and your eyes meet mine
The curving of your lips; butterflies inside me, so many


Sinful grin. Dark eyes.
A hungry soul, you know why
A beckon in pantomime, and I follow command

A thumb to the cheek, foreheads meet

Naked Tree

Under the naked tree
They saw each other drenched in silver moonlight
Revelling in a mad dance of love
Echoing moans through the night


Two lost souls
Had found one another
To lose themselves
To each other


They'd found their spot
Where not a being would intervene
So there, they reunited, each night
Sparking a silent fire, in this place so serene

Tides rose, and winds spooked passers-by
As from him, sweet kisses, she stole
A soul, free from the binds of its corpse
Had just found another, to make her a whole

Love Missed

The clouds turned intense
Trying to mirror the look on his face
In an attempt to ease him, she made him a paper boat
Tried to rub her enthusiasm on him, she intervened, "let's race!"


He grunted, rolled his eyes, got up and walked away
Hit by failure, she retorted to her little shell
His emotions had rubbed off on her and stayed, but he had left
There, she mirrored the weather, as the rain fell


Years passed by, much in the same fashion
Her love for her hero pushed her to try again
She had to bring back the sunshine she saw in stills
A million more attempts, but all in vain


Hopelessly hopeful, she tried again
For a quarter century, but then, hope lost hope
Now he's all salt, no pepper,
His eager eyes search for his li'l sunshine with hope


But today, the sun shines in another land
And she doesn't even know
That daddy would see her love
Eventually, he'd know

Fierce

Your gaze, it's enigmatic
Hapless and spellbound it has left me
