A love to be loved

It lay within this heart, so deep
It blossomed into a feeling so sweet
Attempts to impede it's run, but failed
And through the ebb and flood, peacefully, it sailed

Battles between the head and heart, like this one
Without gruesome spills, cannot be won
While one retires in reticence
The other rejoices the consequent occurrence

Stop me not, mighty winds
For it propels me to surge
Where the air is dense
And I can't breathe

It finds me what I seek
The rush of a plunge
The comfort after touchdown
It makes this heart go meek

Stop me not, imperious waves
For it lulls me now
Into the deepest of depths
Where I can't breathe

It finds me what I seek
A wave of rhythm to my beat
It floats me about, controlling me
It makes me weak

The Mindless Heart

It's so beautiful, this tune the heart sings
Oh, it's sweet but it stings
When you want something that isn't yours
But your want, it is a claim of sorts

These silly, insatiable cries
Of the unattainable, like pocketing the skies
Bull-headed like a child
You tread a route so wild

These butterflies that flutter by, must die. Must die.
But, through the changing winds, they still survive
Oh, just how do I serve you, my master?
Pray, don't impel me to cause a disaster.
